PerClot is an ultra-hydrophilic, adhesive forming hemostatic powder. PerClot granules are biocompatible, absorbable polysaccharides containing no animal or human components.

PerClot granules have a unique molecular structure that rapidly absorbs water from blood, creating a high concentration of platelets, red blood cells and coagulation proteins at the bleeding site, accelerating the physiologic clotting cascade. Upon contact with blood, PerClot rapidly produces a gelled matrix that adheres to and forms a mechanical barrier with the bleeding tissue. PerClot is readily dissolved by saline irrigation and is totally absorbed within several days.

Since 2008, PerClot has been clinically employed in a diverse range of surgical procedures, including cardiac, general, gynecology, neuro, spinal, urology and vascular.
