Since 2005, CryoLife has donated 21 processed heart valves to countries around the world via the charitable organization Chain of Hope. In March 2004, CryoLife donated a human processed aortic valve to a 12-year-old boy from Nigeria who had reconstructive heart surgery to replace his valve that had a congenital heart defect. His surgery was performed by Dr. John Brown at Rileys Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis. Today, he is doing well and looks forward to a much healthier life. |
